Isla Saona, in the Dominican Republic, is largely undiscovered. Experienced travel authors rave about this paradise. And it is a spot that is truly special, anybody who loves to travel should go to this paradise at least once.

Saona is part of a National Park. In 1975 the whole area south of the line between Bayahibe and Boca de Yuma had been preserved as National Park, this includes a maritime strip of 5 miles. At the moment the park was proclaimed in about 400 people populated on Saona, they are allowed to stay, but no further settlements are allowed.
